Minute Meditations: The Presentation

Although it's not written in the Bible, Catholic tradition states that Mary was a consecrated virgin who lived in the Temple from childhood until she was betrothed to St. Joseph.  Simeon and Anna, both mentioned in Luke's gospel account of The Presentation in the Temple, were Mary's teachers during her time in the Temple.  When I think of The Presentation, I imagine Simeon hitting himself on the forehead and thinking, "Why on earth did I not realize that this holy young woman, right under my nose, would be the mother of the Savior since I was to see Him before I died!"

Take a better look at those people you see every day.  Consider that they are instruments of God's Divine Plan and may be destined for great things.  Treat them accordingly!

I posted the video below on this blog a few months ago, but it's worth repeating during the Month of the Most Holy Rosary.  I hope it will inspire you to pray the Rosary today.

Today I was not looking forward to praying on the sidewalk across the street from Planned Parenthood. Such a dreadful place. But while praying the Luminous and then the Sorrowful Mysteries with six others there I felt peace and confidence, because I know Christ and His mother have won the victory. Mina, the sidewalk counselor, later told us that as she herself was praying the Sorrowful Mysteries she felt panic and had difficulty breathing. She heard God say that this is what the babies feel as they are being torn from their mothers' womb. She was to tell the rest of us so that we would know and remember. So she suffered today with the children, and with Christ. God knew I was weak today, and he did not let me suffer, until then.

Love the video!

My family also prayed at our local abortion mill today. A car with a man dressed in a suit pulled into the parking lot. I do not know the man's affiliation with the clinic. My husband was drawn to his regular state issued license plate. It had a sequence of "6," the mark of the beast. It reminded us the spiritual warfare is real!

Keep praying the Rosary.

Dear Lena and Anon,
Thank you so much for your comments as they inspired me to pray the Rosary on the sidewalk across from the Planned Parenthood/abortion mill in a city near us. It was my first time doing so and I wept as I began to lead my decade. The brave woman who led the group touched my arm and said, "It's okay. You're taking on someone else's suffering and a baby will be saved today." That motivated me to fast for the rest of the afternoon. Thanks again-- the Blessed Mother is working through you.
